Delaware Karate has an 8,000 square foot building on 2 acres. Our state of the art training center offers outdoor areas as well as two large training floors for adult and children’s
fitness and martial arts programs. We have soccer field and baseball diamond. Basketball courts and much, much more.
Delaware Karate features Nautilus equipment and free weight room. We are the license site for the Ultimate Body Shaping program for adults and children. We have been in business since 1980. We are dedicated to providing a safe and family oriented Martial Arts experience for students of all ages. Our mission is to foster self-improvement and personal development through focused training. We promote physical fitness and positive social interaction in a courteous and fun atmosphere. Our greatest responsibility is to instill a strong sense of discipline and a code of ethics to inspire them to lead exemplary lives as leaders in the community.
Dr. Lauber has not only trained in the Martial Arts for over 30 years, but is a respected teacher in the state of Delaware’s educational system. He has his PhD in Special Education plus two masters degrees in education and Physical Education. He taught at the State School for the Deaf and the Delaware Autism Program. He is a member of the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame and has held positions on many Martial Arts professional organizations.
His son, Master Mark Lauber is Chief instructor of the school and has been in the Martial Arts since he was 6 years of age. He is now 40 years of age . He has trained in Korea and runs the Instructor training program at Karate Plus. He holds the rank of 7th degree Black Belt.

Karate Plus is Delaware’s #1 Martial Arts
school located in Bear, Delaware. Our summer camps and
After School programs are among the largest in the Tri-State
area. We have a large well-trained professional staff of certified
Black Belts who are trained by Dr Lauber and Master Mark
Lauber, who have over 35 years of experience in Martial Arts
and public school education. We are dedicated to providing safe and
family-oriented Martial Arts experience for students of all ages.
Our mission is to provide programs that will foster self-improvement and
personal development from ages 4 to 84 years of age. We promote physical
fitness through our Ultimate Body shaping programs (UBC) and our unique
fitness center. Plus our Little Ninja’s program is devoted to 4
to 6 years olds and focuses on early childhood education. Each one of
our programs is unique and permits us to focus our training on specific
age groups and populations. Our greatest responsibility is to instill in
our students a sense of discipline and a code of ethics to inspire them
to lead exemplary lives as leaders in the community. We have an 8,000
square foot center on 2 acres. No other Martial arts center has the
recreational space to be able to offer soccer, baseball, and basketball
in our ultimate Karate Sports Camp.
We are the only Martial Arts school in Delaware to offer a
separate fitness center with Nautilus and free weights area, plus the
unique outdoor programs. Free transportation from the local
public schools to this ultra-modern facility is another benefit of our
award winning After School program.
The evening programs of Cardio/Kickboxing and fitness for our
adult family members, and the Taekwondo classes for our 4 to 6 year olds
plus our Junior classes for 7 to 12 year olds and the teen and
adult classes makes Karate Plus a family center offering
activities for every member of the family makes. They can participate at
the same times.
The main martial arts program is Taekwondo, which is based
on the traditional (ITF) Taekwondo. Dr Lauber has also
trained in Olympic style Taekwondo and has received his
accreditation as an official Olympic referee.
Maser Instructor Mark Lauber is Dr Lauber’s son and has trained
for over 30 years in the martial arts. He has trained in Korea and has
the unique skills to teach all ages. His staff has received professional
training from both himself and Dr Lauber.Dr Lauber is also well
known nationally as an educator of special needs children. Karate Plus
has several classes offered to children and adults who have special
needs. He is fluent in sign language and has also taught the Autistic
population. He holds a Doctorate in special education and two Master
Degrees. One in exercise physiology and the other in special education
for the socially and emotionally disturbed.
Karate Plus also offers classes in Mixed Martial arts
taught by Master Instructor Steve Demby.
